Honorary Doctor of Engineering for Mr. Ng Wing Hong

CIOB(HK) is honoured to announce that our senior and respectable CIOB member, Mr. Ng Wing Hong (伍永康先生) received his conferment of Honorary Doctor of Engineering (榮譽工程學博士) on 29 October 2011 from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the occasion of its Seventeenth Congregation. Our Vice President Dr. Billy Lee and Mr.Mickey Wong on behalf of CIOB (HK) attended the Congregation to convey our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ng.

A celebration dinner for celebration his above conferment and achievement was held in I-Con Hotel on 3 November 2011. More than 200 guests including academia of Universities, Professionals and senior executives of construction industry, Government officials, representatives of CIOB (HK) together with Dr. Ng’s close friends have attended the celebration dinner to share a pleasant evening.

Dr. Ng delivered his personal and impressive speech regarding his early days of studies in the Polytechnic and remarked that he has been practising in the construction industry as building contractor for over half a century. Professor Timothy Tong, President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University invited Dr.Ng to stage to have a heartwarm cake cutting celebration ceremony. Indeed, Dr.Ng has been much appreciated by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for his enthusiastic participation and personal contribution to the relevant activities organized by the  University.

To show our appreciation and to congratulate Dr. Ng’s distinguished achievement, dedication and contribution to the construction industry over the years, our President Mr. Edmond Ding together with representatives of the Council Members of CIOB(HK) presented our souvenir of framed congratulatory calligraphy“ 業界先驅”  to Dr. Ng on stage.

CIOB (HK) extends our warmest regards and best wishes to Dr. Ng for good health in the promising days ahead.
