CMYA 2008

                       nbsp;

The Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA) is a biennial award organized by The Chartered Institute of Building (Hong Kong).  It has been the premier event within the Hong Kong construction industry for over 20 years.  This is the tenth time that this event is organized.

The prestigious awards are to honour the individuals' outstanding performance and their employing companies' support on building project management for construction projects completed in Hong Kong between January 2007 and December 2008.

Since the late 80's, Building Manager of the Year Award – BMYA, has been a premier event organized by the CIOB Hong Kong.  We followed the UK Headquarters to evolve the BMYA into the Construction Manager of the Year Awards – CMYA from 2006.  After the success of the first CMYA in 2006, we are going to progress CMYA 2008, which will continue the remarkable history in the CIOB Hong Kong.

Manager of a construction project with substantial building contents could apply for entry to the CMYA.  The event is particularly exciting and unique as the awards go to the managers of any construction projects on the merits of the successful ways they have managed the job.  The awards are about gaining the recognition of the candidate who turns architectural and engineering concepts into respectful building and construction structures that stand proud amongst others.  This prestigious recognition is not only accepted by the construction industry but also by the community of Hong Kong for which the winning managers have been serving.  These awards intend to promote the professionalism of construction management.  Professional management demands a series of complicated management practice, team building, strategic planning, decision making and personal skills.  These are also the essences that make the awards distinctive and valuable to all winners.
