Routes to Membership (MCIOB)

This route is for professionals working in the construction industry with non-cognate qualifications.

For applicants wishing to follow this route there are two entry options:

1) Those who hold at least a UK honours degree or equivalent, that is not in a construction-related discipline

or

2) those who hold a current Chartered level membership of another professional institute

All candidates for this route must have at least 5 years' professional level experience in the construction industry. Candidates with less than five years' experience will need to undertake the Graduate Development Programme (www.ciob.org.uk/education/diploma).

You would be expected to demonstrate experience in a management role which includes decision making responsibilities for People, Finances, Technology and Health, Safety and Environment.
