Value Management (VM) as a philosophy, together with its associated tools and techniques, emphasizes the need to consider function and cost in a structured and systematic way as part of any strategic decision process. VM is defined as a method of enhancing product value by improving the relationship of value to cost through the study of function which emphasizes on application as a management technique.
Locally, the Development bureau of the HKSAR Government recommends using VM for large public works projects in Hong Kong Since 2002. This seminar will introduce the concept of VM and its application in the construction industry. The VM opportunities in the development life cycle will be provided with a few real-life successful case studies.
