International Commerce Centre – ICC is the centrepiece of the MTR Kowloon Station Development which is the final parcel of the entire station development. It is a 118 story, 484m skyscraper making it Hong Kong's tallest building and the third tallest in the world (in terms of usable floor) when completed in 2010.  The main structural skeleton of ICC is formed from a high strength/modulus concrete central corewall coupled with 8 Mega Columns through 4 level outriggers of which the bottommost are a pre-stressed concrete outrigger structures and the rest of the three are steel outriggers. 

ICC will house exclusive Grade A office with spaces about 35,000 square feet. A 6-star hotel is located at the top 15 floors of the building with its hotel lobby standing at 425m above the ground will be the highest hotel in the world.  

This seminar will bring audiences back to Year 2000 when the Project commenced and through many years of changing economy in Hong Kong, and see how the challenges and constraints arisen therefrom were overcome by using new technologies and innovative ideas.
