International Innovation and Research Awards

The construction industry is diverse and fragmented, with practitioners operating in a rapidly changing and complex environment. CIOB has an important role to play in facilitating dialogue and interaction between practitioners, education and training providers and policy makers. This in turn helps to develop, promote and implement new ideas and ways of working. The Innovation & Research policies at CIOB are directed towards enabling and supporting this role.

These awards are split into three categories: Innovation Competition , Undergraduate Dissertation Awards and the Masters Dissertation Awards
The CIOB is launching the International Innovation and Research Awards  for 2006/7 in the following categories:

Innovation Competition
Members are invited to submit a brief report detailing a successful innovative practice.  Joint submissions (with at least one entrant who is a CIOB Member) are welcome.  The basis of the report must be any construction related area and which clearly demonstrates the benefits of innovative practice.

The aim of the competition is to encourage the sharing of innovative ideas and practices which can provide real benefits to members and other practitioners operating within the construction industry.

A premier award of £600 and commemorative medal will be awarded to the winner with a runner-up award of £300 and a commemorative medal.

Working in conjunction with the Innovation Competition, the Faculty of Architecture and Surveying (FAS) are once again sponsoring an award for innovative practice which focuses on the advance of theory or practice of architecture or surveying.

A premier award of £600 and commemorative medal will be awarded to the winner with a runner-up award of £300 and commemorative medal.
